Asin Thottumkal won the Best Debut Female Award for her role in Ghajini at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) 2009 awards at Macau. Thousands of specatators and fans had gathered to get a glimpse their favourite stars, and Asin walked the red carpet leading to the event auditorium.
Asin, the queen who stole many hearts, shot to fame all over India with Ghajini in Hindi opposite Aamir Khan. She is also remembered for her great performance in Dasavathaaram opposite Kamal Haasan.
Millions of people around the world watched the Award show which was attended by many bigwigs of Bollywood. The IIFA Award ceremony is one of the biggest celebrations of Indian cinema, and this year was no different! Asin started off with Tamil cinema, and is today on the front cover of every top magazine.
Asin has bagged the ITFA (International Tamil Film Awards) award for the best actress for her performance in Kamal Hassan’s K.S Ravikumar directed Dasavatharam
The ITFA was instituted to “appreciate honour and recognize all who have contributed towards the success of Tamil film industry at an International level.The awards will be presented in a ceremony at Singapore on the 16th of May, in which Asin will be present.
